Born in Lyon in 1962, Sullivan (as his name clearly does not indicate) is of Italian origin.
He hasn’t stopped
creating universes rooted both in the 19th century and modernity.
For a few years he has shared his time between the Alpilles hills, the Poitou, and of course Italy. Nostalgic amateurs of serenity find in his art the “puissance de l’équilibre” ,or power of balance, as describes an art critic. His paintings are sold and withheld in London, Bucharest, and obviously France.
The art press very soon noticed the imprint of the Fauvist tradition in his warm colours. Sullivan’s paintings are first of all an expression of nostalgia, balance and vanishing.
